Tryouts for the 2010-2011 Chiefettes Dance Team will take place on April 13, 15, 16 from 4-6 pm and April 17 starting at 9 am.
Each day is mandatory!
Do you want extra practice before tryouts? If so, please attend our FREE clinics on March 18 and April 1, 4-6 pm in the MHS Gym. We will practice and offer help on all the technical skills required for tryouts.
If you want MORE extra practice, attend the technique classes at Carla's Dance Factory every Monday 6:30-7:30, and the cost is $10 per class.

Congratulations to the Chiefettes for their outstanding performances at the National Dance Team Championship which earned them a ranking of 14th in the Nation for High Kick and 18th in the Nation in Small Varsity Pom!
Congratulations to the Chiefettes for ending their competition season with a 1st Place finish in High Kick and Pom at the 2010 UDA Georgia Dance Championships.

OVERVIEW : The 2009/2010 Chiefettes Team:
There are 15 Chiefettes on the team this year.
The Chiefettes start their year off with a trip to Universal Dance Association (UDA) summer camp at Auburn University. In June and July they hold their annual mini camp for youth ages 4-14 which is always a week filled with fun for the Chiefettes and campers. At Varsity Football games, come out to see the Chiefettes dance on the sidelines to music that the Spirit of McIntosh Band plays and cheering on their Chiefs. Make sure to check out the Chiefettes during Basketball season as they perform at all Varsity home games. During basketball season, the Chiefettes perform at halftime and showcase their competition routines which consist of a High Kick routine and the traditional Pom routine. Other styles of dance such as Hip Hop and Jazz will be performed as well.
The Chiefettes compete in 3-4 competitions throughout the months of November through February including the largest local competition, UDA Georgia Dance Championships. The Chiefettes hope to return and compete at UDA National Dance Team Championship (NDTC) in February 2010 with the best Dance Teams in the country. The Chiefettes qualified for the NDTC again this year at UDA camp at Auburn University. They placed 1st in the Home Routine competition and also received a Superior trophy for accumulating all blue ribbons on their routine evaluations. The Chiefettes are looking forward to another successful season!
